Since I'm new to this, I may be leaving something significant of. (If so, I can contend for the title Queen of Other on my polls )

At the moment it's content for me- back when I thought I was still employed full-time, I started a literary zine/content site, with a few affiliate links to offset costs. Now that I'm full-time and its no longer a hobby, I'm going to be creating some shopper-oriented sites. But for now my biggest expense is the small payment I make to those who contribute art, fiction, and popetry to the content site (Which I refuse to ditch )

Duh. When trying to think of things, I have a habit of coming up with the obscure and missing the obvious entirely.

Fortunately, you caught me quick enough that I could fix it!

OK, let me rephrase the question:

What's your biggest expense direcly related to trying to earn affliate income? (Otherwise mine would be rent on my tiny one-bedroom walk-up apartment)

I think hosting is my biggest expense, closely followed by all the domains I shouldn't be buying but I can't resist.

Well known rumor ...I hate advertising. Therefore I don't pay to do it. Short of the Mall flyiers and the super glue to get them to stick to the car windshields ...my top expense is pencils. Damn Charlie chews the crap out of any he finds and eats the erasers.

I voted for "other" -- my time.

The time I spend building and maintaining web pages causes me more frustration than any of my dollar-expenses.

Time is my biggest expense also, although cigars and scotch whiskey run it pretty close.

Normalacy, what's that? I never had any to loose, so that's not an issue for me.

so far... my web sites have cost me 3 wives and I've never actually seen any of my freinds. (the cost of having my computers wired to my hip)

Time is definitely the big one...

I hear you crytopean. Although I am a much smaller player than you. My wife has handed in her notice as she no longer has to work. She is in a high income bracket and even though this that I do on the Internet allows her to choose a lesuirely lifestyle, there is no interest in it and constant moaning about the amount of time I spend on it. She makes me feel guilty if I work late (which is every day). (edited out)

Sorry guys to vent here but I am really down at the moment and this is very uncommon for me.

I think I have to change my vote to my biggest expense is my relationship with the woman I love.

Sorry to hear you're down, DPG.
If it makes you feel any better, the woman I love is married to someone else and lives in another country.

I'm sad to hear about your situation Radegast and feel for you. I am not one who gains comfort from another's unhappiness.

I am feeling a lot better now though (As well as one can feel in these troubled times).

Although I am a gentle soul I find that it seriously helps my stress management to physically assault an inanimate object hard until the frustration wells have been emptied. I have to get a punching bag.

The frustration builds up within and then after say 2 to 3 months I vent. The cost this morning was a destroyed computer desk, some speakers and a snooker cue. It can't have been that uncontrolled as I managed to avoid damaging any expensive equipment.

I think in this instance most of the frustration can be attributed to mathematical improbabilities in fluctuating clicks per purchase via CJ that did not occur last year but now vary by a large enough margin from day to day to make even Einstein himself run and hide in fear. If you were to apply Occam's Razor to this the outcome would not be pretty.

Have to pop out and find a new desk lol. Dam I liked that one.

Oops. Now everyone knows I am warped.

    Rgds, DPG
