Was wondering what affiliate managers think about affiliates poping their websites, meaning their affiliate links, in popunders when visitors hit their website. So they set a cookie without doing anything, if that visitor then finds the merchant through a search engine and buys something, the affiliate gets credit for the sale. I've seen a few websites recently popping under two websites on each page view, to two unrelated affiliate programs. I don't think it's fair practice, let alone wasted bandwidth, etc.

No way, and we want to hear about it!

If we see this kind of behavior, the affiliate will be promptly notified that they are in violation of our contract terms and are on the short list to be kicked out of our program. This is nothing more than forced clicks without the user's action or permission.

Incidentally, if they're popping a merchant that much, their high traffic and horrendous conversion rate are usually enough to hit the AM/OPM's radar and trigger an investigation.

    Thanks,

In case you don't know, this is a 5 year old thread and don't think Qball posts here anymore. Looks like some spammer bumped up a lot of old threads before they got zapped. But I guess the question is still relevant.

Oops, my bad on the old date.

The more things change, the more they stay the same...
