Due to the popularity of the "coding music" thread, and the especial popularity of the "other" category, I'm instituting a new poll with (hopefully) better categories.

If you're favoirite music isn't listed, feel free to choose the category your music would be a logical extension of (um, not that all these categorizations are particualrly logical...)

A lot of music could fit into more than one category below. choose the one that best suits the "mood" of the music if possible...

Why have you grouped heavy metal with rap?

because there were only five categories, four if I include an "other" category in aknowlegement of the fact that I can't squeeze in everything, and this resulted in some odd groupings. I guess that's the "music with an edge" category- the "harsher sounds".

It is an odd grouping- personally, I love Metallica but don't like Rap at all, so I appriciate the irony. But how do you squeeze "music" into four or five categories? This is my last attempt- but anyone who wants to upstage me with a better grouping is welcome to do so.

...and if someone can fit that sensibly into five poll slots, I will be suitably impressed

But, maybe everyone besides me is too sane and sensible to try! I guess most people refrain from attempting the impossible when there's no chance of success- but where's the fun in that?

    How about:
    Rock Music
    Classical Music
    Heavy Metal Music
    R & B (for my wife)
    Me singing

There you go, we now have 5 categories. Personally, no other music is worth listening to. Well, my singing isn't worth listening to really, but what the hell

Okee doke, looks like "skiffle" is southern jug band music. If anyone codes or works to skiffle, I'd really love to hear about it. You're a dying breed.

I work with Spongebob, Dora, Bob the builder etc in the background. Great for our 3 year old, but not so good for working. Although I can sing the title tunes to over 30 kids programs
