It seems that you can either spell it "Collectible" or "Collectable". But which would you use?

Collectable is the much more common spelling in the UK, but collectible seems much more common in the US - so I guess it depends which market you are aiming at.

    Just as an aside...

Does anyone know of any good affiliate programs for UK suppliers of collectables?

I vote for both. You can always look it up in the dictionary, but it's the web and the folks that don't know english very well you might want to account for.

I think in our business Haiko is absolutely correct. Use both! On a side note though - the normal rule is to use the main entry in the dictionary. The webster dictionary lists collectible as the 'main' entry.

Speaking of the dictionary, here's an oddity you may not have seen -

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> hill - a usually rounded natural elevation of land lower than a mountain
    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> mountain - a landmass that projects conspicuously above its surroundings and is higher than a hill <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

It would be collectible - in other words collectibles are items that are collectable!

I checked in in Merriam Webster and it gave the "i" as the main one, but lists the "a". Chambers (a British Engish one) also lists both but with "a" first.

I registered the "a" and "i" as a domain name, but maybe I should run them as two slightly different sites. Hmmmm.
