Of those who smoke, how many of you smoke while you are working on the computer? How many smoking breaks do you take?

I used to smoke, and I quit 3 years ago. The best thing I ever did. I cannot believe how much I dislike the smell of people who smoke, even though I used to smoke a lot.

I think that I would rather cut of my foot than ever smoke again!

Don't smoke cigarettes, but I do smoke cigars. Trouble is I smoke 'em like cigarettes. Ashtray to the right of the monitor, next to the mug for my tea. Just to the right and behind me is a mini-fridge containing the wine. That's pretty much all you need to know about me right there.

Port is great, but you cannot beat a good cigar and Glenlivet straight.

Disgusting habit. Nothing worse than the smell of it.
Over here it's been banned in all gaming areas, restaurants etc. The sooner it's banned in pubs too the better.

I don't take any smoking breaks, the ashtray sits right next to the keyboard and the cuppa tea

The interesting thing about smoking, to me, is the actual act of inhaling and exhaling. Besides the addicting qualities of the cigarette itself, when you think about the long breath in, the slight holding, and the long breath out, what people are in effect doing is deep breathing. I suspect that is why folks like to smoke in stressful situations, like when CJ is doing an upgrade. I wonder if those folks, if they decide to quit, would benefit from taking yoga or meditation classes where deep, regulated breathing is practiced.

I smoked for a couple of years. Gave it up when I realized how bad my house, car, clothes - AND I - smelled! Smokers don't think they smell bad, but they do.

And now with the news about second hand smoke being so bad for people, I'm personally glad to see more restaurants and public places going smoke free.

    Andy

Just re-read this, and didn't want it to sound like I was accusing all smokers of stinking, so I thought I'd add that I was referring to my situation, and not trying to insult anyone.

When I was at university I would go outsite for a cigarette, and when I got back into the building, I would be told that I smelled so bad that is was awful. I didn't even realise it.
Now that I have quit (3 years ago) I can really appreciate how bad smokers smell. I am amazed that I smelled that bad. It is the most disgusting smell

The thought of ever smoking another cigarette makes me feel sick. I used to smoke over 40 a day. Wow, I am so glad that I quit
