Hey what about people that run numerous types of OS?

At home I have Windows 2000, to my left is my laptop which is Windows 98

Upstairs is an XP system, and in the spare room is ME.

    More options are needed!

    Windows 98

Main reason is that I have too many old programs and utilities that I still like and use but that are no't compatible with a newer version of Windows.

Next year when I buy me a brand new computer, then I may get to upgrade some of the software I'm using now to use it on the new computer, but this one I will keep as is, for sentimental value and because it was the one that help me earn my first commission check two years ago.

Windows XP Professional and it works like a charm. I have never had a problem with it.

XP Pro on the laptop, it's fantastic as good if not better than Win2000 running on the desktop.

I've never had a problem with either, except the XP java issue and that's not so much a problem as a download.

Sandra: I only had 5 options in the poll

I am running Win98se because I have an old scanner that I love. XP won't recognize this ISA card.

Microsoft just laucnhed Windows 2003 (oct 2003) for corporate users. I heard that the Microsfot rep talked about the next version of windows on the horizon at the LV comdex. Looks like XP may be semi obsolete soon! Unbelivable.

Back ot my crappy, prone to crashing and illegal error Windows 98 SE.

How about adding, "...and do you like it?"

In my case, I have five machines running here, and they are all running 98. I would love to have 2000, and will as soon as I can afford it.

One machine, I'm coverting to a Linux box.

Problem with the setup (mostly) is that the 98 OS is not robust enough to deal with large datafeeds.

OSX on the dual CPU desktop and laptop

Debian Linux on the firewall and 2 remote dedicated servers. Redhat on the other remote server.

Linux on the TiVo across the room.

OSX on the wife's machine (She is the only one in her group of online friends that DOESN'T regularly unknowingly send them virus-laden email messages).

Currently use win98SE, I used to have xp home, terrible OS, many problems, I formated went back to 98. Working in the computer filed as tech support for a few years I've seen many problems with XP Home, and ME, specially if you have old old software running.

I will be upgrading to XP Pro soon. 2000 is the best very stable like Haiko said, great if you have a web server at home or office or $$$ otherwise its overkill just for designing pages online.

98SE for me, but I needed a new PC so have just ordered one with XP Professional. Probably find that my printer and scanner won't work with it of course.
