I know that everyone's traffic fluctuates for a variety of reasons, but it seems to me that there has been a bigger change than usual lately.

I thought that I might not be the only one who would like a glimpse at the larger picture.

I'm betting you'll see it pretty even with all the choices. It's one of those any month kind of things.

You're probably right Trust. It's just that I've noticed more than the usual number of people having a catastrophic fall-off in traffic lately, and it's been happening to people who went virtually unscathed through events such as the "Florida update."

On the other hand, I've not heard much gloating from those who should be picking up some of this lost traffic.

Just trying to make some sense of it all.

Gloating might tick off the Google Gods, so I won't do it!!! My traffic is fine, new sites are picking up, steady sites are holding steady. I'm happy to have SE traffic, but am working on offline promotions now that I have some niche sites that I can get targeted mailing addresses for (no, I'm not buying mailing lists, I'm creating them for niches that have directories available. Type, type type.).

In March one of my main sites got dumped from google and I went from 100k uniques down to a couple of thousand within 48 hours.
After I had a nervy gave google numerous serves I settled down and now find steady increase in traffic every week, but not from the SE's.

Still a way to go to get to where I was traffic wise. But the traffic I do get converts very well and it's only going to get better.

If google does pick up the site again, because heaven knows she's hitting it everyday, it will be a bonus but for now, things are good and getting better everyday and I'm not a slave to google's antics anymore

    A little note.

If you are curious, email google. They will normally respond and can offer some helpful advice. It may take a bit for a response, but I have gotten responses on issues and had one major issue cleared up after emailing them and explaining the situation.

Absolutely, but it's a bit early for the Christmas rush.

I really don't pay much attention to traffic. My sales income is the same though some products are now down and others are up. Things are shifting around in the engines.

Traffic year-over-year is way up; traffic month-to-month is way up. Affiliate sales are way up; other revenue streams are way up.
