No. But our SC Governer may go. He joined the Reserves last year per our local rag.

My brother in law is. When my wife and I met, he was only 12. He is now 18 and in the US Marine Corp. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of meeting many of his friends and many of them went into the military with him. Heather and I know all of their families quite well.

((it counts Nix)) - I'll be praying for the safety of your family member.

And all the others as well.

Thank God my brother retired from the Army less than a year ago , otherwise he would be over there now with his former unit , and most of his military buddies .

Yeah . . . every last person in the military, from the US, is related.

Not sure how to answer your question... Do you mean specifically in the gulf?

My cousin's husband is in Korea. He was supposed to be home already, but they decided not to let him out on time.

My step-sister got out a few months after 9/11. She had joined after dropping out of ballet school to delay having to figure out what she was going to do next- had a little more exitement than she planned on.

My kid brother is in the Nat'l Guard. Forgot his specialty, but it involves rapelling down mountains, survival, search and rescue - that kind of stuff.

Got a call from my sister saying he's been reactivated and is leaving for Baghdad tomorrow morning.

All of a sudden, the whole Iraq thing is hitting closer to home than I'd prefer.

How the hec many mountains are in Baghdad that he can rapell down!!!!

My brother in law is a Colonel in Iraq and has been there since April. He has 25 years in and was 5 months from retirement!

He has just been moved to a more dangerous area and everyone in the family is pretty jumpy when news is heard on TV.

On top of that most of the in-laws are in Florida. So far no damage to their homes, but it does get old when the hurricanes keep coming.

My wife is exhusted just thing about all of it. I'm trying to keep her busy with other things.

I have two friends who are in Iraq right now and one that was there for 12 months and came home thankfully late last year. Another friend is training in Alaska and is scheduled to go sometime near the summer in 2005.

My father was in the Navy between the Vietnam and Korea wars, my uncle served in Vietnam, and my grandfather was in WWII.
