Thats why I like the datafeeds. I only use CJ for mail and looking at the reports.

Just said my prayers, ate my vitamins, and am hoping to see BeFree merchants in CJ tomorrow morning.

I'd want it the other way around. But what I'm really hoping for is that they finally fix what got broken on the 12th.

    Connie,

Don't you get a zip once a week of there feed? If you do not ask for it, it’s so much easier to maintain that way.

I get daily updates on the feeds..that way I have the latest..It wouldn't have done me any good to still get the weekly ones, mine came on Friday nights.

    Trust,

That is what I thought but someone here at ABW pointed out that 12AM is really right now.

The fact is, CJ poorly worded their downtime statement and none of us really know what they meant.

However, based on past experience, we all can expect that whatever time they meant, go ahead and add 24 hours.

You were right the first time:

means no CJ for another 24 hours, but they usually take longer than what they post, so maybe Sunday morning.

Well, it's a good thing I added some new merchants at Linkshare this week so I would have something to do this weekend.

What a rookie thing to do, how many sites do you know of that take a day offline to fix up their trash.

    This is user abuse.

If they had an e-commerce site it would not go offline for upgrades. They would put their little heads together and figure out a way to do it right.

I'm surprised they would be down at all - and for a long time in internet time. Fix the issue and relaunch.
Are they going under? or changing something maja'? I hope I don't have to read about them on fxxxedcompany.com

CJ is the only site I can think of that regularly goes down for "updates" or whatever it is they do during these things.

To take a site down for longer than 24 hours has to be some serious business, you'd think they have some really messed up code or scripts or something.

I really can't think of ANY sites that do this as frequently as CJ. Anyone else know of one?

Sadly CJ does not realize that they are losing money because of this. Sure, tracking is not affected, but no one can build pages during this down time. This hurts CJ, it's merchants and us in the long run.

It reminds me of a home show I saw once where the equated all the little leaks in exterior walls of a house to be equal to a whole in your house 1 foot by 1 foot square when combined. If you take all the days that CJ is down over the year, how many days or weeks of lost sales does that come to for affiliates and merchants from pages that did not get built? Think about it, it really adds up when thousands of affiliates can't build pages. I'm surprised merchants are complaining about this as well. If not, they should be.
