Looking around, i see 1 or 2 new things, nothing major as far as i can tell.
Merchants listed in order of highest EPC is nice.

Hm, when I went to check how they were listing the ones I'm already signed up with, I got 404s. Hopefully that part'll be working soon!

I'd rather have the ones I'm already signed up with listed alphabetically, myself.

Update--Got into that screen. My current merchants are still listed by "date accepted"--which is about the *least* relevant way I can think of to arrange them!

Figures quoted specifically in US$ GBP or EU, Country Field in Advertiser List, and back to a very short log-in-cookie length.

Oh well, 2 out of 3.

Nice, what i was asking about earlier today in the Midnight Cafe. I can work with merchants that use a different currency than what i use and CJ will convert my commisions for me.
    Example:
Merchant site uses Euro, i get sales/commissions in Euros and CJ will convert it into US Dollars for me and put into my account:

"How will my reporting appear if I work with advertisers that use functional currencies other than my own?
Commission Junction will convert each specific advertiser's functional currency to the equivalent of your functional currency. All reports will be in your single, designated functional currency based on the daily exchange rate.

Okay so they pull down the site for the whole freaking day to make a couple of small changes that any grease monkey by day affiliate by night could have done in a 15 minute time period and they still can't manage to actually show my freaking reports which by the way are the only reason I even bother to go to their stinking site.

account type info is screwed up in the Account Type section of the payment status/Payment Details screen.
It's displaying the query string to get the account type as opposed to the actual type.
In your actual account settings it's fine though.

[EDIT] .... AND DON'T FREAKING TOUCH THE COOKIE SESSION LENGTH FOR LOGINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on ... do you have to make the same mistake EVERY SINGLE UPDATE!?!?!?!?!

Almost 2AM PST Sunday, February 22. CJ "Run Reports" reports "Sorry. This section is temporarily unavailable".

CJ, we're past the stroke of midnight!

Oh no! Will my CJ sales revenues turn into a pumpkin? Cinderella, please advise.

Has anyone tried to access the merchants alphabetically? This is a nightmare. AND they're not alphabetical. WTF~!

I was also thinking the merger with BeFree would have the BF merchants listed within CJ - I cannot tell the difference. Anyone????

Don't be fooled by what looks to be minor changes in the interface. Sometimes what looks to be incredibly easy is incredibly complex behind the scenes.

It is a ton of work to keep a multi-server, database driven transactional environment running smoothly. We're talking about something that is much more complex than a simple 10,000 row table in mysql.

    Give CJ a break.

As a side note are transactions still kept track of during down time like this ? If not then off with their heads !

well, here's a change. I have to use webTV on the weekends to check my stats and all I get now is a message that my browser is outdated (of course) and they want me to download the latest and greatest.

so my question is: are they getting a commish on those downloads?

and my other question is, when's payday?

Folks, the qksrv.net and cj.com networks are completely seperate. Just because CJ closes the front door so you can't *see* what's inside, doesn't mean there's nothing inside. All the transactions get recorded as usual but haven't been consumed yet (consumed means they weren't added to the master reporting database which is what you see). The transactions are being consumed right now and when it's done, CJ will allow us all to run reports. Today is Sunday. Rent a movie and relax

Looks like its a massive update related to the added function of currency exchange. The ability to translate all US$ earnings from all merchants to all affiliates into either euros, pounds, or Canadian dollars. Did I spot somewhere a note about them using the current exchange rate? If so, that must be complex - keeping the figures onscreen current with the constantly fluctuating exchange rate for 3 non-US currencies.

Of course, I might have dreamt all this - I was only scanning

Maybe I missed this in a prior post but I've noticed their FTP server is down for me also. Anyone know when it is suppose to be available again? Or, do I have another problem?

Money was never a big motivation for me, except as a way to keep score. The real excitement is playing the game.

Come to think of it, I've been waiting for a deal like this for a long time. Too bad Amazon.com hasn't gone this route.

Now I have to go back and figure out how to promote (and which) UK sites on what was primarily a US-interest site or two.

    back to work
