I came across a script called Site Block Zapper.

I'm told it will convert "bad" links that Norton has listed to
a form so the ads will still be visible by a visitor, even if they have
    Norton turned on.

    Has anyone tried this script?

    Price is very hefty.

Lets say it does - will cj allow you to use it?
Or will their fix be out very soon by months end (March 2004) ?

    Thanks.

Only problem is that Norton can probably update their programming at anytime to make this script a pile of junk.

HMM..the price on that page is a heckuva lot higher than what it says on the site's front page! On the front page, it says you can get their entire library of scripts for $49!

Or take the 10-day trial for $9.

I think something's awfully fishy when a place tries to get $199 on one screen and only $9 on another.

Also their comment button leads to an error screen. And they don't even warn to change your FTP password after the auto-install.

Personally I wouldn't trust it. Too many signs of slackness and too much fiddling around with the prices.

I gather any "cj" link listed by Norton.

    For example:
I create a full page for say a cj affiliate called X. I put the cj links on my site to the X site.

If you had Norton on your computer and working then arrived at my site you will not see any links.

Poof the links to X are gone. The customers in frustration try's find a link to click but never does.

The customer backs out and my sale is lost. Now if you are into google adword campaigns or other pay per click campaigns this may amount to a large amount of lost sales over the months and years.

How much - I do not know. But from some emails and phones calls telling me they want to click but can't it must be a large amount.

The best thing will be to insert a header on that page with the content that the customers which can not see links on that page should close Norton for the purpose of shopping.
I am asking me also what " bad" links are?

Thanks Ray. I'll try your free trail this week.

But... The cj spider checks my site very regularly and has for a long time.
Now will alarm bells go off with them?

    Great price - thanks.

    Hello Cotton Flower,

So far we have not had an issue at all on the 1x1 pixel images used for that.

The application calls the image from the tracking agent as it would normally in a page load .. but is simply renamed when printed on the actual web page itself.

Glad you like the price .. compared to CGIconnection pricing .. this is a steal and you get FREE updates for the first year as they occur if the application is updated.
