Ever since the last Google update, my earnings have plunged 50%. I'm getting the same amount of clicks (pretty much) but my transactions on CJ and Linkshare have cratered (???!!!??).

    What's going on?

    Sales are fine for me.

    "What's going on?"

"Ever since the last Google update, my earnings have plunged 50%."

Could be it. You might be getting the same # of clicks buy maybe due to the Google update your traffic is now going to worse performing merchants. Could because there was a lot of down time during the CJ update, stats during that time seem a little off, could be Feb. is usually slower than Jan or Dec. Could be many things. My low day at CJ for Feb has been about $20 and the best almost $400. That's just how affiliate marketing goes sometimes.

That is the #1 reason you can't rely on search engines for traffic. It stinks, but it is the truth Sorry that happened to you

Like Trust said it may be different traffic. You need to know what words are being used to find your site. Then again it could just be that another site has moved up next to yours in the search. One they prefer to buy from.

After a record month, our affiliate revenue is tanking ... big time.

Yes, sales are down somewhat...maybe 25%, but not due to the google update...either sales trends or the CJ update...

My sales are down this month at least 25% from January and February.

Of course, if reporting at CJ worked properly I might have a more accurate picture.

Sales are slowed somewhat. Not huge numbers but definately a noticable one.
One trend is it has been a tough month to get any reasonable dollar amount sales.
Way too many sales where commissions are less than a $1 and not a trend I like to see, nor completely normal

At CJ mine are UP about 25% between the 1st-7th Feb. and 1st-7th Mar.

I do have to agree with Walleye that there have been a larger number of puny sales the last few days than usual. But enough other sales have come in to offset that.

As for non-CJ merchants, some are doing better this month and some are not. I'm starting to see some seasonal items kick in, but some other things have gone into their off-season.

Well, it's funny. My daily, "You can count on 'em," type sales seem off. But, some spring stuff is popping in and I had a couple of mega sales so the bottom line is up.

But, my expectations for the new stuff are disapointed. The new sites are going nowhere fast with google.

Mr.Merchant, if you do business in any way what-so-ever with parasites, your products will not be sold on my sites!!

March is very good. Apollo, what I realize is that the google traffic sends me purchasers, whilest Yahoo traffic and altavista traffic is just for information of the visitors. I realized that a long time ago, but now this is valued. Don't ask me why google visitors buy and others not.

    Carneol,

How do you differentiate the Yahoo! & AV traffic from the Google on your click throughs?

    Hi All
I have seen my epc go from a steady $35 ish to only $4 !!!!! I'm sort of in a bit of a mild panic about it, because nothing i seem to do wih my ppc programs seems to make any difference. I had sort of put it down to the changes at cj, I hadnt even considered the google end.

March is looking much better for me too. If it hadn't been for some nasty reversals which sucked $118 in commissions from my account it would have been even better. Hope this trend continues as sales have been pretty bad since January.

I had times, where my sites were not in google but in yahoo and altavista (before yahoo joined google results) and had only kittel sales, the same with MSN visitors but AOL visitors bought more. Now my websites are not listed in Yahoo ( when they were with Google the sites were listed ) and no loss of sales, but instead an increase took place. That brings me to value google visitors as buyers and yahoo as lurkers. It is a thing of long years experience.

Adsense click thrus are double. Sales? What's a sale?

Actually the Indie programs are selling stuff but with one exception, the network merchants conversion sucks like a black hole.
