I'm missing something here. What are you talking about and how do you do it?

The new EZ-Joe way to redirect the URL to merchant links is what's being referred to. Now, on the Get HTML screen (when you get a link--that pop-up), you can just hit "Show Advanced Options" (or wording to that effect), then a screen comes up and you just put in the URL you want the link to aim at. Bingo! Instant custom-directed link, no guesswork involved!

If you want the default destination, just use the code that normally comes up instead of hitting the button for the advanced option.

    Cool it is indeed!

I am a newbie. But what is a redirect url and what does it actually do? I've been here on the net for a year, I have heard of the redirect many times but never really knew what it is and what it does

    wly,

in this case a redirect is when you select a page on a merchant site other than their default landing page

just find a page on an advertisers site that you think will convert then when you go to "get html" for their links at cj.com you can click "advanced options" and paste in the url of the page and it will give you a code like this...

    merchant.com

the link will then redirect to your prefered page

a word of caution though, i was using the redirect tool today and i messed up, i dont know how it happened but i ended up linking to a different merchant than the link was for

the "http://www.qksrv.net/click-123456-010101" was for one merchant and the "?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.merchant.com%2Fc%2Fsalespage.html" was for another, i'm no newbie either, good job too or i may not have noticed
