    I notice the link codes that we retrieve by clicking on "Get Link" in CJ mailings are a bit more elaborate than the link codes we get from the regular web interface.

    E.g., I get an image code following this pattern when I click on one of the CJ email "Get Link"s for a typical merchant promotion:

    <a href="" target="_blank" onmouseover="window.status='';return true;" onmouseout="window.status=' ';return true;">
    <img src="" width="125" height="125" alt="qrstuvwxyz" border="0"></a>

    Normally, the comparable image links I get from the CJ interface don't include the mouseover, mouseout, windowstatus parameters.

    Why are these included when I get code via CJ's emails, but not when I get code from the web login interface?

    Is there any harm in leaving those parameters out? What's the point of the inconsistency?

    Thanks for any info on this,

    This is a masked link. When somebody mouses over a standard CJ link, their browser will display the affiliate coded URL ( etc etc). With the masked link, it will display the destination url (

    You may want to consider removing the "target="_blank" bit though. This makes a new window open, and many popup blockers will prevent that from happening.

    it may be possible that pop up blockers steer clear of blocking _blank - specifically google's toolbar

    please update me if you have more info

    Popup blockers that I use don't block a pop that I click on, in other words, a target blank isn't a popup, it's a click request to open a new window.
