    Hello All,

Do Google stil like keywords included in links?. I lost some top positions on my keywords yesterday..sigh

I have a PR of 6 and have good keyword density ...despite of that, a lot of sites with lower PR beat me after yesterday update. What's wrong with google?.

Well if they haven't changed the index they must be tweaking their algorithms. I have seen major changes in my Google rankings this week. Nothing has fallen off the charts, but everything seems to be down a page or two. Traffic is down noticeably, too. My PPC listings are delivering the majority of my sales in the last couple of days.

They added my new sites too - But it's not the big update for the entire index. They just scanned in some new sites which I was told is something new that they will be doing instead of waiting for the end of the month for the update.

So relax, the big google day is still to come.

I'm not sure I want them to make any more changes or not!

Someone on another message board figures they're changing how much weight they give to links from different sources, so that links in guestbooks, on message boards, from freebie pages, etc. do not give you as much link pop benefit as before (because a link that you put there yourself (or could have) is not considered as much of an endorsement as a link that another webmaster coded into their site). There was also speculation that they're putting more emphasis on the theme of a whole website, not just individual pages.

I don't know if those theories are accurate, but they're as plausible as any other, and consistent with what I'm seeing. A number of the links to my internal pages which have dropped came from individuals with freebie websites on specific topics - for example some people writing about issues like "body acceptance" linking to my Plus Size Clothing page. I expect it would be hard for Google to see that as a theme-related link, even though the connection would be seem logical to most human minds.

    Sigh ....
