    Dear CJ,

A person who represents himself as an 180 Solutions / Ncase / Zango official has publicly admitted that their products collect, transmit and process personally identifiable information in direct conflict to their published privacy statement.

Thier url at http://www.180solutions.com/About/Consumer.aspx clearly specifies and I quote "No personally identifiable information is collected or distributed."

However Tommy clearly states that all URLs that a computer that has their software installed visits, is encrypted, transmitted over the internet to their servers and then processed. His statement is on this page: http://abw.infopop.cc/eve/ubb.x?a=tp...34&m=892109614

According to the privacy policies of the companies, there will be no sensitive or identifying data collected from the user's system and the user shall remain anonymous. But it remains fact, that the user’s PC is sending information about themselves and their surfing habits to a remote location, which can only be interpreted as an invasion of privacy.

I urge CJ to reconsider their relationship with this publisher as your association with this SPYWARE operation can do nothing but reflect negatively on the Commission Junction network and on your parent company, ValueClick.

    Sincerely,

    DPG

I can't believe that folks are still firing neurons and burning energy on thoughts that CJ may be any less ethically challenged than the 180 crew.

The challenge has to be made. It doesn't mean the person making the challenge necessarily expects anything to come from it.

Bumping this thread is not going to do anything.

I usually sleep till 1-2pm on Mondays so can somebody bump this thread and also the 10+ threads asking CJ to list what parasites each merchant works with in the merchant details and also the 100+ threads asking CJ to get rid of the parasites from the network. Monday i will also get a new sig.

Ya know, I was trying to make a real suggestion due to the timing of the post and the fact that affiliates work weekends and network folks do not.

If you are offended or annoyed or just plain don't like the idea, then get off it and don't bump it on Monday, OK??

I'm not offended or annoyed, just trying to save you some time. Start here and you'll see a pattern.

I've seen CJ here on weekends before. Just because they're not normally at work, doesn't mean they don't sometimes keep up to date with the latest at ABW.

No, that was the first CJ post ever. What i meant is it's a good idea to read past posts and see that some of the stuff that's suggested now has been done to death already in the past. So you can bump this thread all you want, won't do anything. Merchants and software applications don't even need networks to work together. The networks can kick out all the parasites and the parasites and merchants can still work together.

    Got it, thanks.

Sadly for us - where there's a will there's a way (for them).

Both CJ and LS were made aware of the privacy and possible security issues privately prior to any public posts. This is also a concern outside of just 180.

I did receive acknowledgment from both CJ and LS regarding the issue. I would not expect to see either CJ or LS to post publicly about it however.
