The bunghole has finally moved out..

"We appreciate all the business you have provided PC Mall.
We regret to inform you that we have changed our business model and will be discontinuing our programs at Commission Junction within the next seven days. As of June 4th, you will not be able to have tracking capabilities into the PCMall site. "

For more than a year with 3,500+ clicks not even a single sale was ever generated. Even if there were, they would eventually be reversed on the 10th.

I've been a computer VAR for over 30 years and knew enough to start ragging PcMall and Macmall 3 years ago. Just a few links for years as they never could do better then 1 sale per 1000 clicks.

Yes, they certainly were a waste of space on one of my sites. I rarely say something like, this, but glad to see them go.

I guess they really wanted me to know so they sent the message twice. Each time the same AM immediately invited me to join the MacMall program, another dog which already tops my non-performer list.

Also got a deactivation notice for Ethnic Grocer and one for Computer Surplus Outlet though I didn't realize I was in thier program. Did I miss anything?

Seems like my top non-performers are dropping like flies, saving me the trouble of swatting them.

I have links up for Ethnic Grocer and see that they deactivated me too, I didn't get the email, or my spam filters got it. I have a food site that is just starting to get traffic, so I was hoping this was just a temporary thing...

I also have a food site and Ethnic Grocer didn't convert. Deb, you haven't lost a thing. It didn't trouble me in the least to take their links down as I should have done that long ago.

I maintain a half-dozen pages for Ethnic Grocer's product links and have had a few small sales and quite a few clicks every day.

I, for one, hope this is a case of them paying their bill and getting back here.

Rhea, thanks, now to find food that WILL sell on the net. Emeril needs an affiliate program!!!! LOL

Herb, Ethnic Grocer isn't deactivated as a merchant, they are still listed as active, but it appears they deactivated a large number of affiliates from the responses here.

    Deborah,

The "active" designation on CJ's deactivated reports is something I never understood, never saw an explanation for here & never got a reply when I emailed CJ about it in the past.

If you go to www.ethnicgrocer.com & click on Affiliate link on the bottom, it takes you to a CJ page that says: "This company's partnership with Commission Junction is currently inactive."

So, I think they're gone & didn't just dump me. (Which wouldn't have been much of a loss, in my case.)

Interesting, thanks. I thought it was how they designated that they just dumped me and not that they were off the network.

Off to take down their links.....

I'm going to wait until mid-week before I do anything. There's always a chance they'll pay their CJ bill.

After that I'll really need to find a food merchant with a lot of products.

I have a bunch of their dynamic pages up, so need to look around for content to replace them. I don't want people going to empty pages on my site.

And it will 10 days before I get to them, getting ready for this trip and then being gone, I won't be working on much of anything until I get back.
