I just sent the following email to CJ client services:

...A review of my log files shows that most searchers are finding my pages via
search strings for which my pages are well optimized . Too many of these
searchers spend less than 30 seconds on a page that has the exact item they
    searched for.

I think that at least some of these viewers have one or more of the ad
blockers installed on their computers. The most effective of these appears
    to be Norton.

I have tried several methods of 'hiding' the qksrv link from the blockers.
    Spectacularly un-successful so far.

Do you have, or know of, any effective methods of preventing blocking?....

Want to make any guesses as to the expected response from CJ?

Nothing helpful. Two months later I still haven't been paid and emailing cj is TOTALLY USELESS. Apparently it takes more than a month for them to contact their bank ffs!!!

They know about this. What I can't understand is that they take no action - this hurts them more than us.

In the absence of any reasonable explanation provided by CJ for their inaction, what possible reasons might they have to want the status quo to continue?

And, what action do you WANT them to take to make Norton mind? They should buy Norton, maybe? This is NOT going to change. If it were, it would have changed by now.

CJ has said they are addressing the issue for how long? Face it. They can't do nothing.

    Suck it up.

What would they spend more time for if they found their item and a link to the merchant? I've never had many people stay too long on my revenue sites; 30-45 seconds was about average when I checked, and that was before Norton et al were an issue.

These are product showcase creator type pages with up to 30 products per page.

Maybe I'm all wet and Norton has nothing to do with it.

It would be great if the PSC could somehow create links for the network merchants that were redirected instead of qksrv links.... Just a thought, I have no idea how it could be operated on a large scale.

It's a neat script, Chet. But I can't get it to work with the PSC type links. I have tried 47 (OK maybe 10) different combinations with no luck. Haven't given up yet tho.

    ================

CJ's response to my email msg:

    "Hi Frank,

We currently do not have an answer to this dilemna, but it is high on our priority list. We have been in talks with Norton, but I am not aware what has been discussed so far.

I am sorry for the inconvenience."

    Regards,
    xxxxxxx

    ===========

I responded that I thought it too late to talk with Norton. That CJ needed to change the qksrv link to something not blocked.

Didn't, and don't, expect much. Just a small attempt to let CJ know that an advertiser is concerned by the prospect of losing commish.

Maybe everyone should send them a message of discontent.

    Then, again, perhaps not.

I am pretty certain that if it were as simple as changing the link and requiring thousands and thousands of affiliates across the planet to change every single CJ link that would have been done by now.

Of course, Norton would just add the new link to the things to be blocked every time it got changed by CJ and all the affiliates would have to do it again and again until the cows come home.

If CJ did have any way to stop this do you suppose they wouldn't have done it?

The answer is, it can't be done. No sense complaining. You just have to suck it up. Just another cost of doing business with CJ.

They shouldn't have lain down with dogs if they didn't want fleas. You are known by the company you keep.

SSanf, but the script does get around it, and since you can name it anything you want, it is pretty hard for norton to block.

Frank if you want to post in that thread what you are tryign to do and the issue, i am sure i can get it to work for you (I don't use PSC myself).

    Thanks SSanf.

You have a very refreshing way to get straight to the heart of the matter. Almost always clears my cluttered mind.
