It looks like someone registered at 4:39pm on his office computer, and then, in ONE SECOND, he drove home, started his machine, went to the eBay page, and activated his registration! Not bad, eBay and CJ!

16:39 till 16:40 is one minute, not one second.

Where did you get someone signing up at the office and driving home?

Sorry, TrusNo1, I meant 1 minute. Well, they say that when one registers at the office and then activates his/her registration at home, you don't get any credit. Voila!

This isn't new. There are lots and lots of threads about ebay. Do we need another new one?

I think ABW can accommodate as many threads as are needed for the members to discuss things as many times as they wish to resolve problems and issues or express concerns.

I have heard of no thread shortage.

If we are now to limit talk to only those things that are "new", we will certainly have a pretty quiet board from now on.

Considering the corruption and abuse within the eBay program, an additional thread is probably a good thing. Those of us who've promoted eBay over the years can see the changes in the program, and they aren't for the better.

Anytime a program goes from a good one that makes you money to a bad one that is barely worth keeping, it needs to be in the spotlight. That is part of the reason ABW exists, to protect innocent affiliates from merchants who take advantage of them!

Maybe I'm misreading this, but what it looks like to me, given the timing, is that someone followed the affiliate link to Ebay, registered, and then 1 minute later bid on or did a BIN on the item they were led to by the link.

Why the [CENSORED] is Ebay reversing it?

    Sheesh....

    It Boggles the mind.

If we super affiliates really generate 90% of affiliate traffic, you would think that eBay would want to work with us instead of just rip us off and have us not promote them?

Yeh, when it comes to certain merchants my mind is boggled all the time. Sometimes I think certain merchants spend most of their time figuring out new ways to cheat the affiliates.

To know what's really going on with this transaction, you need to know the "click dates".

It might be that that someone clicked on your link on, for example, the 20th.

Then, a few days later, the same person clicked on someone elses link, or just a normal google listing, and that's why your transaction was reversed.

You can see click date and time if you downlaod a transaction report to Excel

Are you saying that most affiliates that are getting ripped off by eBay decide to no longer promote them? ...all one must do is read ABW to become convinced that plenty of affiliates continue to promote them despite being ripped off. Wouldn't you think this is what inspires eBay's continued "corruption and abuse" (thanks Andy) ???

eBay is not going to change their ethics as long as there are plenty of desperate publishers who's eyes light up when a dime is reported in their account.
