Yesterday I got this email at my web site email address supposedly from a CJ merchant. You know, the ones you get with the disclaimer at the bottom that says "This message was sent by an advertiser in the Commission Junction network..". Well, anyway, I'm wondering if this was a real email from a merchant or a Spam Mail of some kind and if anyone else got it. I contacted CJ AAQ and they could not tell me.

    Here is what I got:

It was from CostumeMan with a topic of FTP Datafeed Access. When I tried to respond to the email, the email address that came up was FrankBeeCosutume@aol.com. (I did send them an email, but no response has came back).

What bothers me is I logged on to CJ via the link in the email and when I tried to find this merchant I could not. All URL's looked appropriate, but I later worried I had gotten some spam email and given someone my CJ username and password when I entered it.

Did anyone else get and email like this?

    Am I simply paranoid?

    Thanks!

    I got it too Ron.
    I think it's legit.

I signed up with them because "costumes.com" didn't track a sale for me last OCT and then would not answer my e-mail and so I needed a replacement.
I got a second, "welcome" letter, email from them.

I got this and they do show up in the CJ interface for me.

Frank Bee ... I'm off to search for some threads on them, I keep hearing a faint clanging when I think of this name and I can't think why.

FrankBee sucks. BuyCostumes.com and TheFrightCatalog converts better.

I guess I left out one important piece of information. My email from them was completely blank except for the CJ disclamer at the bottom.

I tried to find them in CJ email, but they are not there. (I know sometimes if you are not in a merchants program, they can turn off their email address in that listing).

    Anyway, very strange.

Do BuyCostumes or TheFrightCatalog have datafeeds?

    BuyCostumes.com has a datafeed, I use it.
I've actually done OK with Frank Bee for the little time they have been up and considering it is off season for costumes.
I got that email as well but didn't pay much attention to it. I did costumes a week or two back and will do some updating nearer to October.

That's probably the first time I didn't check ABW before I did something.

Anyway, I just spoke with Frank at length, and he struck me as up and up.

My opinion is that the problems discussed at SAS are due to non-technical savvy.

So I'll give him a shot. We all know I'm vocal. If it works, you'll all be the first to know.

If it doesn't, I'll be here updating this thread.

And since I owe Brian a favor, I'll go thru SAS even though the datafeed email came from CJ.

I got the email as well and it was totally blank except for the disclaimer. I haven't had time to investigate, so was glad to see this thread

    Billy Kay,

I'd like to speak to Frank about a certain portion of his company I'd like to promote. What is the best way to talk with him? How did you reach him?

    Thanks.

Frank Bee was a disaster for me last Halloween!! Just about every sale I got was reversed due to the costume being "out of stock". Buycostumes is by far the best as well as Frightcatalog - they both converted very well for me. Frank Bee will definitely not be on my list this Halloween.

I looked at it and he has that toll free number staring you in the face right by the buy button. It is like he is asking people to call and bypass ordering online.

Thanks for the helpful information. I probably won't doing any costumes, but I had discovered their company when I was looking for an affiliate program for school uniforms. Their uniform site still says they have an affiliate program with CJ for uniforms, but actually that ended almost two years ago. Amazing they are so slow to update their site (and that CJ allows it). Oh, well.

    Thanks again.

    Billy,

Wait a few more weeks. I emailed them once and it took about that long I think.
