    This is not only a issue but I'm using some text links which come in the form:

    <a href="" target="_blank"
    onmouseover="window.status='';return true;"
    onmouseout="window.status=' ';return true;">Free Shipping at</a><img src=""
    width="1" height="1" border="0">

    I have read that it doesn't matter whether you use the image part or not, you can just use:

    and all is well. There are some situations like Adwords or if you use a links directory that you must use a single URL for the link.

    Whats the purpose of the image? And does it matter whether you use it?

    I'd appreciate your experience or opinion...thank you.

    From what I gather, the image is pure and simply a method for CJ to be able to tell you how many times your link has been viewed, how many impressions they call it (this is not clicked on just viewed)

    It is ok for you to leave the image out of your links so long as you do not want the impression statistics to available to you. Any clicks or sales from the links will be recorded with or without this image. Hope this helps
    One day parasites and their ilk will be made illegal, I bet a few Lawyers will be pissed off when the day comes.

    Yes. that helps. Thanks

    Someone else told me it was against the TOS but I will have to reread it to find out for sure.
