I'm having some strange tracking experience with CJ so someone enlighten me please...

I've put a new site on the net about a month ago and added a few CJ links to it. I'm using a click counter to count clicks on CJ links and hide the qksrv.net domain.

Here's the funny part (the numbers below DO NOT include clicks from the past 24 hours):

My click counter shows a total of 215 clicks on CJ links.

When I login to CJ and run report for this site it shows a total of 32 clicks. Yes, 32. Thats 14.88% of what my click counter says.

Does CJ filter "clicks" that come from robots or something? Any other ideas/comments?

    Thank you.

    I do not think so.

As Todd explained in a thread recently, visitors are closing browsers before qksrv redirect. So clicks are not being counted. That's one possibility, but 32 out of 215 cannot be just for this. I told Todd the same thing in that thread too.

    1. CJ don't count well know search engines and robots clicks. My list have 30 lines.
    2. CJ don't count duplicate click

IMO, both of these points are incorrect. Neither CJ nor most networks recognize robot generated clicks. I have a handful proof for that. Secondly, CJ does not count unique click, Performics does. CJ counts all clicks.

When I write robots, I ignore 403 redirects, so if one of MY robots has visited your site, it'll show a click on your local stats but nothing at CJ.

I bet there are a LOT of robots out there that are the same.

That's why you put redirect script, etc. in a directory by itself and ban all bots in your robots.txt file from going there.

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /cgi-bin/
    Disallow: /images/
    Disallow: /redirect/

This stop pretty much everything except those boogers that don't pay attention to robots.txt. Not much you can do about them though, other than banning the IP in .htaccess

Thanks for the idea Nature Boy, will do just that!

If the stats doesn't improve I'm sure I'll find a cure (drop CJ, put some other links up ...).
