You've got the most important PM of your career! Well, maybe not, but I think it's important.

David (if you check this thread again),

Is it possible to add some categories to your CJ feeds, rather than just one broad category?

    Hi KC,

Yes absolutely we will consider doing so!

We have received some very good feedback recently from another ABW'er and are now looking at the best ways to accommodate and execute a new format.

One challenge for us is to marry the shopper pattern on both WBShop.com & NewLineShop.com with the different patterns you see on your site[s] or other merchants you work with. For example, when folks come to our shops, they are predominantly shopping by title: "Harry Potter" on WBShop.com or "Freddy Vs. Jason" on NewLineShop.com as opposed to arriving at the shops looking specifically for T-Shirts, Jewelry, or Hats. Even for Halloween, while people come to us to buy costumes, the purchase cycle is driven by their identification with a particular title. Hey, come to think of it, it might be fun to run a poll “For Halloween, are you more of a Foxxy Cleopatra (NewLineShop.com) or Glinda the Good Witch (WBShop.com)”?

Back to the subject, your advice is most welcome…Feel free to PM me and I’ll share with you my direct contact information.

In the meantime, if it helps, we will share with you weekly stats on top selling merchandise [with sku’s] as well as keywords – internal & external – driving sales.

David, how often you are updating the CJ feed? I just received a datafeed yesterday for the first time since 8/22. That's 5 weeks in-between the 2. Does the inventory not change so much that would create an out of stock problem or is the feed just not being updated?

The answer is both...But it should not have taken us so long between updates.

Now that we are going into holiday shopping we are updating it weekly and it will remain that way. Over the last several weeks we have been looking to put in place a less manual process that takes into account feedback we have been receiving. While there have been very few out of stock sku's during this period, I voiced my concern earlier this week because of the lenghty period and because we are adding in some new and cool items related to Harry Potter & LOTR.

While we have work on our side still to do, you will have a refreshed weekly (at a minimum) feed.

    Hi Scott,

It is looking like a possible go for data feeds outside CJ - can you pm me the details? I am assuming we would automate an upload to a ftp account, but then I am a business guy not a tech guy so feel free to set me straight.

    Karl,

I take it "Woo-hoo" is a good thing?

Everyone, you'll see another update to the feed today as we have just now launched pre-orders for the soon to be released The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King DVD Platinum Series Special Extended Edition - this is going to be hot!

A whole heartedly WOOHOO on my end here as well.

I put up a few product links thru the cj interface the other day, and it took F-O-R-E-V-E-R to get the look I wanted on my site. The feed outside of CJ would have fixed this up to about a 10 minute job, and I would have had alot more pages to put up.

BTW, What details are you wanting me to PM?

    Hi Scott,

I just don't want anyone to assume that I know all details about setting up datafeeds - I don't...if there is anything in your experience that you think we should know about, it would be a big help to know now so that we don't have to keep going back to the well to make feed changes. Right now we are working off the specs from CJ and feedback from a few other partners.

    David,

You may want to check out this thread. EasyClickTravel is setting up a new feed and received alot of pointers from affilates on what we do and don't want in a feed.

From what I hear, basing you feed on the CJ model is a good start. I haven't worked with the feeds straight from CJ, so I really can't comment on their setup. But if you've got a rough draft of a feed, I wouldn't mind taking a look at it and offering my opinion on it.

I've made some sales in the past few days with just your product links, and I hope the pattern continues

    Thanks Scott!

    btw...you anywhere near the Ocoee?

Glad to hear sales are picking up for you. We have seen a big bump in the last week for both our shops (Halloween Costumes) and the pre-orders for LOTR: ROTK extended version are going very strong on NewLineShop.com

I believe it's at least an hour away from Knoxville where I'm at (at least that's what the maps are telling me.) Never been down there before, but with all the rain we've gotten this year, who needs a river
