All,

I ask that if you deal with any of the companies on this list, you email them the "Proof of Morpheus stealing links" thread ( http://www.abestweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/...&f=21&t=000089 ) So that they drop Morpheus, now!

The merchants we can FORCE Morpheus (BUYERSPORT) to change their monopolizing of all sales commissions generated by honest affiliates ... remember they have 80,000,000++ downloads!!

Haiko

Talk about a list of non-performing wank merchants seeking EyeBalls ..this is it. Hell it almost parallels my "sheet list" I just submitted as looser non-converting merchants for my 3 CyberMalls. If I pulled down all the above forever I'd loose 10.00 per quarter. Maybe the crooks are dumber than the networks that feed them. These are the ones with real world ADVERTISING budgets and the ones you have to beg to get paid. Wait until they get hit with scumlord bills for normally non-commissionable URL links and hijacked search terms. I should take the time to remove them all and vote on them by not ggiving them visitors to hijack my POTENTIAL commissions. This could also be why none of them convert for my targeted traffic.

I'm surprised OverStock is still on the list and thta might account for their conversion ratio jumping to 1 sale per every 1000+ clicks from an average of 1 sale per 90 clicks....hijackers getting my sales and adding theirs to the mix. No wonder Shawn assumes his program is doing so well and growing at BeFree and Linkshare. I see PcConnections and Martha Stewart have gone 100% pure scumware since they closed down their affiliate programs.

Yeah, what's up with that? He said he was checking and rechecking when I suggested it might be just a handful of hijackers skewing his numbers.

I have to say I agree with Mike that these are the biggest load of wanks I've ever seen.

I thought none except Amazon were my merchants anymore then I got an email from Peoplefirst saying I'd been dropped.

Oh No. What will I do now.

So, say this bunch of lusers go scumware only, and get used to making money by stealing, there could be interesting times ahead. And I'm thinking there are good reasons for encouraging these worthies to continue with their scumware buddies.

We might find it easier to attack the scumware itself, than talk these thieving merchants round.

I say wait till they are well and truly dependant, then launch a collective attack on the scumware via any means possible. (Including going round their houses and chatting to them personally).

And, I'd like to say now, for the record, that I will go ballistic at anyone moaning on about how -

1) Any of the above don't convert
2) Sports stores don't convert
3)'I sent this merchant 1000 clicks and didn't get a sale and I gave them another chance I wonder why they're still not converting'.

As this point it might be too early to call them thieving merchants. Some, maybe a lot of them don't know.

For example, Overstock.com's Shawn knows about it, but he is apparently having to do extensive research to figure out how to locate them in his affiliate database.

And Steve Messer himself claims it is incredibly difficult to find them as they can resign up (so difficult that they are throwing up their hands and giving up trying for now).

Shawn might have a point. Steve doesn't. Steve can confiscate their earnings after the event. He's just being weasely again.

Here's an interesting statistic... my EPC for Amazon.co.uk (not listed) is forty times that for Amazon.com (who are listed). Odd huh?

Chinaski,

Yes they do!

Morpheus, Buyersport and Wurldmedia, there is another one but I have not found that one out yet, but I'm working on it (it is confidential info), mostly (99%of the time) they are listed as buyersport.

Well I sent out a letter to all of Cj's that I currently am with. I suggest everyone write their own letter and send it out to their sponsors. They have to see we are pissed. Now on to Link Share.

Link Share done, and also emailed Performics. I invited them all to at least read this thread. Hopefully We can get a few gone. Lets work hard to destroy parasite ware. It's like there's a new one every month....maybe more...

Don't these 3rd party tracking people realize, without us they have no company? If Parasite Ware conquor all, Us as a normal affiliates will either join them or vanish, ( mostly vanish) If there'll only be 5-10 parasites, that are on 90% of the computers. Our job will be over, and without us, they have no company because 5-10 networks can't be a 3rd party tracking for a handful of affiliates can they now.

This comes at a very bad time as we just launched a marketing campaign through Buyersport (Morpheus) to promote all of our MP3 players through the Morpheus software.

Nevertheless, I just got off the phone with them to a) let them know about the problem, and b) to see what they were doing to fix it.

They (Buyersport) were made aware of the problem, and they informed me of a patch they are releasing in the next few days. The patch, I was told, will remove the code responsible for stealing links, which should end this.

I have another call tomorrow to talk with their technical folks to gain a better understanding of exactly how and when they will release the patch.

Just thought you would all like to know that there are some of us Merchants who are concerned and are actively trying to help fix the problems.

My stance is clear, and I will stay on top of this until it gets fixed.

Thanks,

The major idiocy here is with the ad networks! They get their deals with brokers (the ones who really make the $$ with the "D"uper Affiliates like WhenU, Morpheus and Aadacom (etc) they [CJ. LS, BF] don't earn their %, they [Parasiteware] will go direct!

Shawn,

See my email!

These guys are crooks, period!

There are 80,000,000+++ computers that have this sheet, I'll try to fix that but don't ever 'trust' them or believe their lies!

Quick Letter back from Ebay.com

Thank you for your email. To clarify, eBay removed Buyersport/Wurld Media from our affiliate program over two weeks ago. I have spoken with the Buyersport team and they are aware that they are no longer an eBay affiliate and have removed all eBay links from their site. Please do let us know if you still see eBay links on the Buyersport site.
Thanks,

Canfree,

FYI, on the merchant side ...

We've been pooping on them left and right, their sales team is in overdrive, after a month's ramping up against my initial threat that Steve Griffin a coward in the BeFree Forum.... well he IS!

A week to drop them? ROTFLMAO! It takes seconds to drop an affiliate! They are waiting to see if they [Morpheus] will finally be true!

The parasite hijackers need the affiliates traffic to interlope on so they feed on our content( Toptext) and/or our visitors clicks since they have neither. They suck us dry and they only have folks like Looksmart, other merchants and the SE's to shine the spotlights on the roadside deer. These guys have no loyality to anyone especially the networks if they can migrate their merchants to privately run affiliate scripts.

Shawn go back and find out when OverStock heavily committed to coupon special links -free freight specials and even the seasonal specials at BeFree and then LS. Research the side deals with Gator.com- ShopNow/Whenu.com -Ezula and Kazzaa and all those other broker deals that promised your links and specials would appear on competitors sites. Those dates and campaigns will coincide the drop in all your normal affiliates conversion ratios. We still converted if your reporting tags weren't screwed up by having two networks and one cart. Problem is our ID# were changed or the incent deals hijacked our cookies at the point of sale.

Not rocket science when your overall affiliate sales go up but your cutting fewer checks and the majority of the commish goes to just a few players.

"They (Buyersport) were made aware of the problem, and they informed me of a patch they are releasing in the next few days. The patch, I was told, will remove the code responsible for stealing links, which should end this."

Your advised that they made that switching code in the first place just for the ability to steal affiliate commissions. So their response to trusting you will be our new release 2.4 no longer has the switching code. They then take no effort to force their 80 million current version P2P clients to upgrade and you believe your working with the good guys moving those MP3 players as you test ver 2.4. They always sucker greedy merchants with the line that your offers will popup at sites like Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Yahoo stores and ebay where you haven't paid those site owners a penny for exposure.

What you don't realize is a huge amount of your customers with Morpheous -ShopNow -Gator -Limewire- Grokster etc etc Adwarez type www.overstock.com in the browser address bar or hit favorites and your company has to pay a commission on all resulting sales including your e-mail flyers regardless of the switching code. The moment you signed with them they monitized with their commission rate every single source of traffic to your URL...Tell Patrick Byrnes about that decision then duck.
