I am about to reorganize my entire site, and focus on a specific product, I have a few simple questions before I post my files to the server,

    1. Is there a way to have submitted and spidered pages removed from the searhc engines?

    2. if thats possible, how long does it usually take to have the pages removed?

    3. The home page is going to have different keywords, will I need to resubmit that or will the current spiders pick up on the keyword change and update my info in the search database?

I guess thats it. Any info would really help, including some things you may think i should know.

    thx to all

    Based upon my own experience:

I've begun turning one of my websites into a mall. When the search engines made their regular visit they began picking up the new pages and dropping the old pages.

I still get hits for old pages from some of the lesser known search engines and directories, but I route those to my home page/directory

I'm guessing that she might have utilised the 404 page for it Verbalkent. It can be done in other ways but I don't know how to do them sorry.

    Thx Charpaula,

I have replied to your pm, i was looking around, and I did find this really great Link for 404 redirect, even gives examples of 404 redirects that are the most usefull (Ex: doesnt just say, "Please try again, it gives different sites that have custom 404 page redirects that contain great info and links to help visitors on thier path)

Im a checkin the pm now, if that link was in your pm please excuse me in advance..
