I bought webmerge last week and just love it! For anybody out there considering buying it, IMO it's worth 10 times as much as Richard is charging.

For anybody who already has it, or is a bit more advanced than I am where coding is concerned, maybe you could help me out with a problem I am having. I have been trying to get my brain around it for days, but no luck as yet. So here's the problem:

I have a product site that I want to split into names alphabetically. So when someone clicks on the letter A it will go to the index page with products with names starting with A. My problem is I have too many products to fit on one index page (for the page to load quickly) - I have more than 40 products beginning with the letter A and they all have thumbnails, so I would like to split my A products into pages of 10 items per page.

Now I can see how I can do this by making a new page when the first char in the field changes, but this puts all the A products on one index page (40 products). I can also see how I can make a new index page each 10 records, but if I do that then the A and B (and other letters) will be mixed up on one page.

Hope this makes sense. Let me know if it doesn't.

If anybody have any ideas on how I could get around this, I'd be very very happy to hear from you.

there's no option in the current release so far as I can tell, sounds like a good change request though...

Richard - anything like this in the pipeline?

Until then, can anybody help me with a filemaker pro workaround.

This is what I'd like to do. Using the find mode - find records in one of my fields starting with a letter of the alphabet. I know I can do this using A* but this returns results with all words starting with A in the particular field I am searching in. What I want to find is all records beginning with the letter A in that particular field - I think it has something to do with a script using "begins with" but I can't seem to work it out myself.

Any ideas or suggetions would be greatly appreciated.
