Isn't it possible to create the option of reading the database files themselves. If Webmerge could read the tables or queries from for instance Access, there is no need for creating txt or csv files.

I'd think it would be possible, but the best way to get your request seen by the author is to post a message to him on the WM website. He's said he doesn't always have time to catch all the messages on this board and prefers direct emails for feature requests like this.
I find I always need to manipulate every datafeed to clean it up or alter it first in various ways, using Excel in my case. So I haven't felt any need to be able to read the "raw" feeds from the vendors inside WM itself.

This has been requested before, and may appear in the 2.4 release (or earlier). It is an excellent idea!

This is slated for a future version of WebMerge. ODBC and MySQL are on the list -- any others you need?
