Does anyone know if you can use wildcards in strings?

For instance, is it possible to use an "if" to create an index with only one letter of the alphabet?

    Can you use [WM-If Field: LastName = A] or [WM-If Field: LastName = A*]?

    Thanks so much!

Have you tried using those? Trial and error is useful

I've read through the WM docs and for the life of my I can't figure out how to do this. I'm experimenting with the IF statement for the first time and as far as I can tell and from what I've been able to establish through experimentation it's not possible to have WM print a section of code ONLY if SOMETHING exist in a specified field. My work around is I put "...buy X at" and had WM look for that text string. I got that to work fine but I'd rather have WM print a section of code based on whether a specified field was empty or not. Is it possible...did I miss something somewhere in the docs?

No, I'll try them today. I was just hoping someone else had already tried. My brain is sore from trying to figure out how to organize everything.

    Thanks!

I don't understand what you're asking. Can you use an example?

    Thanks,

The support file examples are weak, maybe we can help Richard with this? Although, we did pay him for the app

I haven't tried that combination wildcard, although I know some do work. Hate to say it, but the experimentation thing may be the way to go. I experiment with a small database (duh?), and build a small set.
