    Hi all,

I am looking into putting WebMerge into use on a calendar of events and details of each, which seems well within the program's abilities.

However, I would like to put in a section for 'Events This Week'. I can see how I'd use record numbers to produce 'next ten events' for instance, but not based on event dates relative to today.

Any ideas out there to produce what's below?

if eventdate > yesterday and eventdate <= (today + 7 days)
then write that event record in the list

    Many thanks,

    Si.

    hi,

    welcome to ABW,

i dont think it can be done with webmerge, it requires a mathemetical computation and i webmerge doesnt support it.. i think.. but i leave the final say to more advanced users and Mr Fourthworld himself.

Are you generating the events db yourself?

If so, what tool are you using?

    Hi,

The db is a fairly simple affair in Access at the moment (I run a query that brings a few tables together and export that out).

I suppose I could just have an extra query just to bring out the details of the next week's events - it's just another thing to process, but it's not the end of the world. Have I answered my own post?

    Thank you,

    Simon

Your the customer I've been looking for: I've been considering making a WM-Calendar tag, but unsure how it should look.

I had envisioned that you just write something like this:

    [WM-Calendar: fieldName]

...where field name is the name of the field that holds your dates.

WebMerge would then buld an index page with a series of small month views, with linked date numbers leading to your description of events for that day.

But I know there are many other calendar formats I should consider (week view, date view with times, etc.).

Would the month view get you through the day while I work on the others?

Sounds good to me to automate the process somewhat. My planned workaround at the moment is to build a field in the db that gives the month name and group things together like that (lots of WM-If's in my pages!), but that sounds very helpful. Thank you!
