okay. I downloaded a datefeed csv file from shareasale and when I export it in webmerge, all the pages except the index page which comes out as a list of all the files linking to the other html files. every html product page looks like the below? am I missing something??? I'm quite new at this so any help would be helpful. Is this what it's supposed to look like? image below.

    thanks!

    It will look like that if you don't design a template and tell Webmerge to use it to create the page.

    Start out by designing the index pages, then when you get them the way you want them, work on the detail pages. And most of all, run it in test mode so you can do trial and error on how the pages look.

    Just to get you started, create a blank html file and put this into it:

[WM-Record]
    <A HREF="[WM-Field: LINK]" TARGET="_BLANK">
    <IMG SRC="[WM-Field: THUMBNAIL]" BORDER=0 ALT="[WM-Field: NAME]"><BR>
    [WM-Field: PRICE]</A>
    [/WM-Record]

    (I got the field names from your pic above.)Then, save that file, and set Webmerge to "Use one template file for Index Pages" to that html file you just created. Then run Webmerge in test mode (down at the bottom) and test 20 records. If everything is done right, you should have 20 images with the price underneath them that are clickable.

    The real fun is creating the detail pages later on to include descriptions and all other kinds of information.

    Hope this helps.

    I believe so, I don't do alot with the detail pages myself, but I do know, that when you tell it to create a detail page, the link on the index page goes to the detail page for that item.

    I made the mistake once of marking the detail page tab when I didn't want a detail page, and I could not figuare out why none of my links worked right on the index page.

    Trial and error. I believe that should be the Webmerge motto.

    Check out an earlier posting called "Lessons Learned in Using WebMerge" for some pointers in a creating multi-tiered website, i.e., index page, Category Pages, SubCategory Pages, and Detailed Pages.

    Thanks for your example above NatureBoy.

    It helped me with my question in another posting:

    hyperlinks and writing URLs as links
