    Hello,

    I was wondering if I was editing my datafeed correctly ?

    I wanted to change the datafeed that actually had just one main category and was broken up as ||computer > video cards > ATI ||

    1) Using notepad or crimson I would replace all > with ||

    2) Then I would use notepad to add two subdirectory fields in my 1st heading line so it would look like this ||category||subcategory||subsubcategory||

    3) Then I would open it up in excel and sort

    Am I missing a step ?

    Thanks

    Jeff

    P.S Still cant get categories to quit duplicating , no matter what method I use

    Get yourself a copy of CSVdb (freeware), it will split columns.

    Jeff;

    If you are going to open the datafeed using Excel, then you could use the Excel "Data, Text to Columns" function to split the column using ">" as the delimiter.

    I figured that feature out after reading a post here somewhere, makes it really easy.
