    Hello,

I am creating pages from the same template using WM.

A new page is created after 16 records have been reached.

All the pages use the same template. This is just one teir.

All the pages were generated without a problem.

    BUT

    Here's the problem....

The very first page that is generated is OK. Everything looks great.

The second page on are all messed up. For instance the navigation bar on the left is in the middle of the page. and the top graphic is moved right. In fact, if you image an upside down L as my header and ledt margin, the whole thing is moved right so that it is in the middle of the page.

    Any help?

    Thanks,

    Ed

    Hi WebLady,

I checked everything through GoLive CS and there are no errors.

The table tags are all there

    Thanks.

    Any other suggestions?

Have you tried rebooting the machine? When I first started working with Webmerge, I would need to reboot the machine every once in a while to so strange things wouldn't happen. I was quessing some sort of memory leak of something.

In addition to posting here a duplicate request was sent in email, requiring a duplicate answer here -- from the email I sent this afternoon:

Your templates use div tags with absolute coordinates. Those can sometimes be used effectively with static layouts containing only fixed elements, but when using something like WebMerge the content within them will cause portions to expand beyond their natural bounds, giving you the sort of unexpected results you've found.

Try using tables to structure your pages rather than div tags.

    Hi Richard,

    Sorry for the duplicate.

I didn't know how well the tech support email would be answered.

In addition, I did NOT know that you answer questions on this forum just as readily as an email. There is no documentation to that fact.

In any case, I did exactly as you said, and STILL have the problem.

    What next?

    Thanks,

    Ed

I would suggest starting over with a fresh clean template. Insert a minimum of WM tags (no header for example) into the template to interact with your datafeed. Don't however, simply copy and paste from your existing template, since you may copy over some corrupted codes.

Test the new template to see if it works correctly. If it does, then add more components (coding, formatting, headers, etc) one at at time from your previous template. Save each template with a different file name. If you encounter the same problem that you reported earlier, then back up to a prior version and re-enter codes manually until you get a template version that works.
