I'd like to try Webmerge as a simplified CMS for some of my websites. Although I'll be back studying how to build index's, etc., I have built a few thousand pages with Webmerge before so I do know a little bit.
I want to enter "articles" of maybe a thousand words in a database and have each article linked to a category for publishing with WM.
Except, I can't figure out what software to do this with. Some kind of mental block, I think.
I tried my AlphaFive database software but WM can't read the table files it generates. I tried exporting the information to an .asc file but then I lose my formatting.
I tried to plug a few hundred words into a cell of Excel but it choked.
I'm pretty sure that I'm missing something obvious so I'm hoping someone will throw out an idea that I can use to do this with.
    Thanks for any help.

Clarify "lose formatting". Lose my line feeds so that ten paragraphs merge into one large paragraph.

Ok, one can either use mySQL to retain line breaks or a regular database program and just use html for formatting in the db.
Now, off to learn WM indexing.
