What is the easiest way to add your affiliate tracking number to a link without physically adding it to the end of the link one by one in excel.

Most feeds I have access to require me to manually add the number on to the end. I am sure there is an easier way to accomplish this out there that I am not aware of. Maybe an automated feature in Excel? An help will be appreciated!

lol! I have been going through this bigtime!

Find/replace under edit. Find where you want to put it and replace the numbers or xxx's with your code.

I found a trick, if it's added to the end I copy the last word, then replace with the word and my code. It works!

I'm not sure if that is what I had in mind. Funny thing, I think it is easier to write a PHP script to do this. But I really want to put some effort into learning WebMerge, put a few site up and see what happens.

If I make a link column in excel, is there a way to use webmerge tags to combine the two columns to make one link?

Why not just combine the two columns in Excel?

    =A1&" "&B1

Or =A1&B1 if you don't require the space

so in your case you could add your id into column B, and in column A have the link you want your id added to.

So it would just be =A1&B1 entered into column C

Is this what you want to do?

Julian, you are the King (or queen, not sure )! That was the little trick I was looking for, I knew it would be something so simple as that, thanks a million!

Sometimes trial and error is a great way to learn.

I now save countless hours because I have stumbled across better ways to do things in Excel and Dreamweaver (combined with Webmerge)

Sounds like something I should add to the program. It's good that there are ways to do that, but it would be so much more convenient if you never needed to go outside of WebMerge for things like that.

Depending on how the URL is structured, another option might be using the replace option in the WM-Field tag, maybe something like this:

    [WM-Field: MyURLField raw replace("?","?affiliateid=1101001&")]
