I am wondering what I have done wrong in my settings.
    Here are my headings:
    1. index
    2. Category
    3. Sub-category
    4. sub-sub category
    5. Product detail

    Here are my setting files:
    1. Index - index (create one index)
Detail - Product detail based on Category
    2. Index - Category based on Category
Detail - Product Detail based on Subcat
    3. Index - Subcat based on subcat
Detail - product Detail based on subsubcat
    4. Index - subsubcat based on subsubcat
Detail - Product detail based on SKU

They seem to all link together but I lose the subsubcat step. The page is made but the link from the subcat goes directly to the product rather than the subsubcat.

There must be a better way to do this and hope this makes sense (it is hard to describe).

I'm running into the same thing-subsub category page has 1 item on it and I know there's more. I'll be interested to hear this one!

Check for duplication of terms in your subcat and subsubcat fields. This would, I think, produce the kid of result that you are seeing (assuming that everything else is set up correctly.

No - there aren't any duplicates.
I must have an error somewhere...

Found my error. Had it right on paper - wrong in the actual settings.
