    Hi All,

Wow, I just really started hard with WM last night at about 9:00 and I'm now ready to build a 3000 page site. Amazing!!

But before I do, I need help with adding the ALT tag to a bit of code. Every time I try to use ALT, it prints on the page instead of working like it should.

    Here is what I'm using:

    <CENTER><a href=[WM-Field: Website_URL]>[WM-ImagePath: IMAGE_URL] <CENTER><font size="1" color="#000080">Click Image</font></a>

I would like to add ALT where WM-Field: PRODUCT_NAME is correct field.

Can anyone help with this simple code?

    Thanks,

    Ken

This is how I get to display the alt tag description on the product image:

    --------------------
    <img src="[WM-Field: Thumbnail raw]" alt="[WM-Field: Name raw]">
    --------------------

    Mr. Sal,

    Thanks for your answer.

Unfortunately, I still can't get the ALT to work.

I noticed that in your suggestion, you have " marks where I don't. My code works except for the ALT tag. Why do you have " and I don't and the link works for both of us?

    Thanks,

    Ken

The W3C spec considers HTML using quotes for such things to be "well formed", but most browsers are tolerant of non-well-formed (unquoted) attribute values.

This only works for single-word values, however. If your alt attribute has a multi-word value, without the quotes the browser has no way of knowing where that value ends and the next attribute begins, so my guess is it's just ignoring it.

Mr. Sal has it correct. I would use it just as he has it, making sure you put the quotes in.

If it is still mising, then I would check the field name in the data feed file ("exported File"), and make sure it matches what's in your template.

A little hint here, would be that search engines like "Well Formed" html better than they do something else.
