Hi, I'm trying to use WM-Include to include an HTML file that's one directory above the location of the generated pages. Even when using the TagMaker utility, I can't seem to point to it. The TagMaker uses the entire path, i.e. C:/My Documents/etc. but when I run the job, WebMerge appends that path to the folder path where the pages are being saved. The only thing that works is to put the included file into the folder where the pages are being saved. But I use this included file in a lot of jobs, which means it would be saved in lot of different folders. Which of course means when I change something in the included file, I'll have to update that html file in all those different folders, instead of in the root folder.

    Please help?

    Sharon

that may be a bug in TagMaker -- I'll look into that.

In the meantime if you manually trim the path in your template so that it's relative to the folder in which your pages are being generated you should be fine.

Richard, thanks for your reply. When you say manually trim, I assume you mean type in the path directly, which is what I'm doing. The problem is, no path works - the only way I can get it to work is to use NO path at all, like this:
    [WM-Include: InsertSchoolCode.html]

This forces me to copy InsertSchoolCode.html] to multiple directories.

    This does not work:
    [WM-Include: /nextdir/InsertSchoolCode.html]

Isn't that how you indicate a relative path that's one level above the directory?

    Thx, Sharon

To go one level up prefix the path with "../":

    ../nextdir/InsertSchoolCode.html
