    Hey guys,

We're brand new on CJ as of last night. We sell grills, cookware, barware, and more. Summer is actually our biggest time of year (not Christmas), so this is a great time to get started. We pay 7%, and our average sale is around $250.

You can find more information here:

    Akiva:

Good question. Actually, include the buttons on the right side while you're at it - 4racinggifts.com, Pool Life Style mag and logeauxpromotions. Sure looks like a batch of leaks, otherwise.

They all use the same shopping cart/secure server to close the sale, so it should all work just fine.

Should work fine = will work fine

The shopping cart is the same for all sites, so the cookies will be recognized no matter where they come from.

I know a little about parasiteware, but I'm sure you guys know much more about it than I do. What are the best ways to detect it from a new publisher?

4racinggifts.com, Pool Life Style mag and logeauxpromotions are not owned by us, so we cannot pay commissions on those sites. Any of the other other grilling, cooking, etc related sites are owned by us, use the same shopping cart, and will pay commissions.

    Hostile crowd?

Not at all. Just seeing if you're worth sending traffic to.

We are certainly willing to work with our affiliates - after all, you are partners in the success of our business. If you have any suggestions for improving our program, please let me know and I will do whatever I can to improve the experience for all of us.

Not Zappos Shoes - sorry. If there is a big enough interest, I can come up with a list of all of our sites that use the same shopping cart. There are quite a few, so it might take some time, but I will do it if there is a strong interest.

Steve, looks like the site has great potential but you gotta get rid of any and all leaks. That alone will stop a lot from signing up and you'll make a lot more from good affiliates then those leaks anyway.
Do that and mabye get the PSC from Akiva and you will get lots of sales, makes lots of money

No need to do it, IMO. That post pretty much made up my mind. Thanks.

We will look into that, but about 99% of the links are to our other sites, so it shouldn't make a difference to the affiliates, since they will still recieve commissions from the traffic they drive. We have this interlinking of sites for SEO purposes, and it works extremely well.

Our statistics software (we use a package called FireClick) shows us what links are most used, where people leave our site, etc. This software has proven over the last few months that most traffic to our main site (bbqguys.com) stays within this site. If they DO leave the site, it is likely to one of our other sites, which uses the same shopping cart.

I'm astonished nobody at CJ told you what we are expecting from our merchants.
We have nothing against you, but with so many leaks, I can't see anybody to take you on board.

Trust me on this. Affiliates don't like leaks to places where we don't earn commissions. The money you make with those leaks will pale in comparison to what your affiliates can do for you.

this will be a problem for some potential affiliates -- we don't like giving clicks to the competition.

    Drop leaks.
Be receptive to affiliates here, we give good advice.
    Remain parasite free.
    Get a feed.
Get the PSC tool from Akiva.

Your program could really take off, i see lots of possibilities, it's up to you.

We don't have a feed through CJ (it's expensive and we just spent a lot of $$ to get started with CJ), but we do have an in-house feed available for anyone that requests it.

I will talk to the higher-ups about removing the leaks from our site. I don't have the authority to just remove them myself, but I may be able to get them off.

Thanks for the suggestions, and please keep them coming!
