All,

Effective immediately any all MLM scheme or offering posted on this board will be locked and removed as soon as possible.

This is an affiliate marketing board not a MLM board!

    Thank you,

    Haiko

Personally I do not presently do any mlm, but:

Aren't there quite a few mlm programs that are also using affiliate marketing?

    Would you call prepaidlegal mlm?

Just wondering about the definition of mlm being employed here....

    Varhan I,

    Please forgive the delay.

My point is not affiliate programs that may also be MLM .... my point is that any advertisements for ANY MLM offering on ABW is prohibited. If they [the MLM]do offer an affiliate program, as well, that is "Open" to discussion on ABW, but an MLM spamathon is NOT!

    HTH,

    Haiko,

    Thumbs up on that decision.

You might introduce newbie users to World Wide Scam a non-sponsored, hard-hitting site exposing many MLM schemes.

This parody website, while hideously designed, is a wealth of information about many of the popular MLM programs and the scam action going on behind them.

This guy really calls them out on the carpet and gets up close and personal with the tops of these downlines.

I usually send this resource to any well meaning person that approaches me with an MLM offer. (If it's a geniune approach). Sadly, the majority of the time the program is listed up on worldwidescam.com

    It saves lives...

As a community operator you might be intrigued by his run-in with Delphi Forums. Pretty interesting stuff.

    Regards,

    -Wayne

I found this on the net.........

Do you ever go to a restaurant, enjoy it, and tell your friends about it? Or how about that movie you saw this past weekend, or the sale at you local store? Yes, you probably mentioned that too. Did you ever wonder how some hit movies make forty million dollars in a single weekend? Pretty amazing numbers when it takes a lot of seven dollars to equal forty million. Did you ever get a commission for doing that? How about a "thank you?" Not even something free? We're still waiting too.

What is it? Network Marketing, as it is called today, has been around since the 1950's. Network Marketing originally know as Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) is probably one of the most misunderstood concepts in America today.

In Network Marketing, companies move products through a group of independent distributors who buy wholesale, sell retail, and sponsor other people to do the same. For your efforts, you can earn overrides on multi-levels of people in your organization.

Often mistaken for pyramid schemes, which are illegal and move no products into the marketplace, Network Marketing allows average people to earn above average incomes. It is a fact that many people are earning a few hundred dollars a month, sometimes tens of thousands of dollars a month, or even earn in excess of a hundred thousand dollars or more.

What's so attractive about this business is that there is no prejudice. Anybody over 18 can prosper and succeed. No color, race, gender, age, employment or educational background can stop you. All you have to do is be open-minded and follow the simple steps laid out by your company. You have unlimited earning potential. There is no ceiling. Simple, Fun, Money are three words that can be associated with the most powerful marketing method to distribute products in the 1990's and beyond. personal growth.., along with financial freedom are two of the things you can expect from Network Marketing

Network marketing, Affiliate Marketing, whats the difference??

I could appreciate a company that lets me profit for my hard referral work

Great decision ..I'll be happy when these are all just MLM's money loosing memories... RIP! The lure of the web for MLM scams is that the exposure through spamm is almost free. They love to blast out billions of e-mails telling one and all they can get in on the top!

Just posting the facts on what MLM is - 2 or more tiers = MLM

Georgia Code 10-1-410 "Multilevel distribution company" means any person, firm, corporation, or other business entity which sells, distributes, or supplies for a valuable consideration goods or services through independent agents, contractors, or distributors at different levels wherein such participants may recruit other participants and wherein commissions, cross-commissions, bonuses, refunds, discounts, dividends, or other considerations in the program are or may be paid as a result of the sale of such goods or services or the recruitment, actions, or performances of additional participants." (Other states have the same or similar definitions in their state statutes.)

Direct Selling Association - "In a multilevel compensation plan, representatives/distributors are compensated based not only on one's own product sales, but on the product sales of one's downline."

You are in MLM if you promote a 2 or more tier program.

It isn't the fact that someone is involved in MLM, or uses Network Marketing (they can be different), what bothers most people is someone coming in here and pitching it. MLM may have affiliates, that's great, but MLM IS usually sold differently - almost can be a lifestyle. That is what most people find offensive about it. It has a totally different feel to it.

Take it from someone who does MLM as one of his businesses (you will not be able to get to it from my profile), it just doesn't belong here - unless under the guidelines Haiko put forth above - with an affiliate program. There are other places to discuss MLM (lots of them), where one can better their MLM business.

Please leave the MLM somewhere else.

That's a step in the right decision...Well if you could add another stipulation to it, It perhaps would definetely guarantee a stop to "MLM or any such programs"

    The stipulation could be

1 : A Warning and the next follow up would result in a BAN
    2 : A Direct BAN!!!

    Say what ?
It would just put a stop to it forever...

    Regards
    Amit
