# How do I hit 5 bars???

1. LOL, I have been patiently (not really) sitting at 4 bars for a few months at CJ and an just wondering what it takes to get those all colored in??? I am having my best month ever over there and have a nice EPC and am wondering if anyone know the "magic number". Is it based on commission dollars or EPC or what?

Just curious and figured *someone* here would know

2. It is based on whatever everyone else is earning compared to you.
So this time of year, even if you have an increase in earnings, you could still go down to 3 bars. I think that 5 bars represents the top 5% of affiliates, or something like that.

I am also on 4 bars.

3. hmmm.... perhaps you just need a green sharpie then Debbie... I can't gauranty it will always line up right though

LOL, or be the right shade of green!!!!

5. You should buy them from one of my aff sites, I offer "cj green" lol

6. I'm not sure, but I don't think it's based on the current month. My guess is that it's based on the same periods as the 3-month EPC.

7. HI Debbie,

The below is from CJ's help section. Julian is correct with the 5% and it's based on the previous month volume.

Publishers earning zero commissions are excluded from the overall calculation and given a blank rating. The ranking is calculated relative to the entire network based on commissions earned by publishers during the previous month.
5 = 95th percentile +
4 = 80-94th
3 = 60-79th
2 = 40-59th
1 = <40th

8. I've always wanted to have a running number here - like a "you are 5,629th highest". I figure that would make it more like a race, give me a goal every day to beat.

But, that might give out too much in the way of their financials, I think.

9. As a suggestion, if all of you would be willing to keep purchasing from my sites until that fifth bar clicked over, I would be happy to tell you the break point.

10. Well even after putting up new CJ domain links for some merchants my CJ sales are the lowest I've ever had since the first month of joining 6 years ago. Too many BHO's and cookie stuffers in that network to entice me into bucking the tricksters there.

11. I've been at 4 bars all year. It never goes up, never goes down. I don't make all that much with CJ either. Maybe between \$400-\$600/month. I'm guessing you probably need to be earning at least a couple thousand to get that 5th bar.

12. I think you are right, five bars requires about \$2000 earnings (or maybe higher).

13. Cracked 2000 (roughly) and got a fifth bar.

14. You hit four bars at 400-600 per month and five bars at 2500+ per month.
It is based on total dollars in comm. earned and will vary with the earnings of all other publishers in the network.
\$100 in commish each day will get you there and keep you there, and keep the doctor away.
Scott

15. Well, that's looking like an achievable goal. I'll keep working on it!!!

I earn somewhere around \$250 to \$400 per month, and I am on 4 bars, been there most of this year.

Maybe if you actually knew what you were doing, you could earn some money at Commission Junction, it isn't hard to get 4 bars.

I get 4 bars and Commission Junction are my 4th best network. I don't even do much to promote the merchants.

You are probably the worst affiliate ever. Stop blaming others for your failings.

18. I actually made it to 5 bars last month. It surprised the hell out of me, especially the commission that put me over the top. I got 3 sales equalling \$3000+ commissions from one merchant that bumped me over the top, and when it was reversed due to their improper accounting, I kept my 5 bars for about a week afterwards.

19. Like Julian said, it's on a scale relative to all other members.

The closest I
ve been able to figure, while monitoring friend's accounts, is that the fifth bar kicks in shortly after reaching an average of about \$50 to \$60 per day.

Another one I monitor has two bars on total of slightly under \$140 overall commissions generated over the course of 9 months.

Keep in mind that probably well over 50% of signups probably never make a cent.

Good idea EC.
I'm very competitive and that would really give me incentive.

21. I am a wimp, but I am usually stumbling drunk after three bars. Of course, the amount you drink at each of the bars has a lot to do without the number of bars you can hit in the night...

...you know, I have a feeling that, once again, I am talking about something different from everyone else in the thread.

BTW, if you are in a collaborative effort (that is working with a big company with lots of traffic) it is easier to hit more bars than as a lone wolf.

22. I'm a lone wolf.....

23. I must be hitting the wrong bars.

24. I had been 5 for ages... now I'm 4... I'm sending more traffic so go figure...

My choice of merchants I guess.

25. mogga

same here. you are not alone.
