    Hello

Sometimes while at an affiliate site, or even when reviewing our server log referrers, I end up clicking on an affiliate link to our site.

Often we have the need to test transactions on our site when we make changes, etc, to cart related issues on our site. Because in the past I may have clicked on a Shareasale affilaite link to our site, my test transaction generates an affiliate sale.

Having to explain and back out this transaction is not a real confidence builder to the affiliate.

    How can this be avoided?

    Thanks in advance.

    Amy,

Clean the cookies on your machine, before you start testing transactions. I have had to do the same thing.

    Craig,

I hate to delete all my cookies. Can I just delete shareasale.com cookies?

    Thanks

    Question answered privately.

(There is a routine we created to make this easier for merchants than having to deal with windows or netscape cookie files, but it is not public information...merchants are provided with it when needed.)
