I'm starting a new affiliate program for my website store at http://www.ihateclowns.com/ncstore .

I sell t-shirts and stickers for people who are afraid of, or just plain hate clowns. They are mostly funny designs and they seem to have a wide market and sell well both in the US and internationally.

What I'd like to know is what would make it a good affiliate program for you as a potential affiliate.

I plan to start the affiliate program pretty soon, so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

For me, a couple of things I look for in an affiliate program:

    1. A firm commitment against predatory applications or parasiteware.

    2. An extended cookie duration, 45 days or longer would be great.

    3. a decent % of sales. Obviously, this is somewhat dependant on your margins, but 10% would rule. Although I will promote some stores that give 5% commissions, it doesn't keep me awake at night, fawning over ideas on how to promote the program, lol.

    4. Accessability. Showing up at ABW, even when your program is being criticised for some flaw or failure, is really important.

    5. Nice banners and content for our sites, so we can promote your site easily.

    That's a start, leastways....
