Brian, I had sent an e mail and for whatever reason on your or my end did not see a reply so will ask here.

Having many sites and then adding some new ones to build around specific merchants the profile info space isn't large enough for the whole pile of sites registered with SAS. If our site isn't listed in our info and a sale occurs with our affilate number will we still get paid or does the merchant just see a sale from a site that they can't reconcile with one on file and not give us credit.
    Look forward to your reply.

Yeah, now that you mention it, good question! People who like getting paid want to know.

The merchant does not track the sales, Shareasale does. And unless you manually add a code to the "&afftrack" field, the merchant does not see the sale "coming from a certain site", they see it coming from Shareasale with your affiliate account ID.

That is not correct... The merchant will see the referring url of where the sale was referred from. What they are referring to (I think) is what if the merchant sees that the sale was referred from a site that is not listed in their profile because there was not enough spaces to list all the sites they have/make.

The purpose of the "afftrack" option is an option for the affiliates to track sub id's and has nothing to do with the merchant side of things.

I don't need a flame war on who tracks whether SAS or merchant. My question was if site isn't listed will I get credit! Nothing more nothing less.

    walleye,

yes, that is fine for now - we are working on an upgrade for that specific issue, so that you wont be limited to the number of websites listed, etc....

it doesn't affect tracking - it is just for reference....

    Thanks,

My bad on whether the merchant sees the referrer.

The main point is that the sale gets tracked and credited to your SAS account, regardless of whether a particular site is listed with SAS or not.
