My webmaster has been trying for over a week to get the code right on our success page!! Everything looks fine on our side but the Sharesale test keeps failing. He's emailed Brian at sharesale but not even he seems to know what the problem is?!
Has anyone else experienced problems with this? How did you work it out?
We use Secure Trading and Actini Catalog with our site.

Any ideas tips etc, greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

That is a tough one since the owner can't even pinpoint what the problem might be. I would recommend contacting the people that you are using for your shopping cart/checkout services and asking them.

After you do a test buy and then view the source code of the success page you should be able to see the tracking code. Usually, if you can see the tracking code it should be working then.

    Some other things...

    1. Make sure your cookies are turned on.

    2. Make sure the time/year on your computer is set correctly.

    3. Clear out your cookies and try to test again.

Hope that is a little bit of help

The shopping cart program if it displays Qty and multiple items added to cart properly is working properly. That part requires a session cookie to be active "parsing" the information for variable and passing it to the final checkout HTML page.

The SAS or any other network reporting tag on placed on the final checkout page is supposed to pick off (parse) the shopping cart net sales amt and the affiliate ID# and merchant identifier + any other reporting functions. All carts I've ever worked with have the ability to modify with HTML markup the final checkout screen. Just like a hit counter script the order success page with the SAS reporting tag script should be able to "call home" the sales info.

Are the impressions and clicks getting reported? Does this shopping cart remove prior shopping session cookies on each subsequent visit to the site? This automatic feature might kill off the SAS reporting cookie before any cart cookie gets set. The prime starting point is the support folks at the cart/ecatalog company.
