    Chris,

I've joined catsplay and am trying to link to particular pages on their site. The Shareasale product links aren't the ones I want - how do I alter it to suit me? I can't find product numbers on the site for the items.

    eg
    http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?m...uctID=XXXXXXXX

if I want to link it to this page (with the product)
    http://www.catsplay.com/pet_jewelry_...3?item=velvion

    how do I do it?

what about if I want to just link it to a general page like
    http://www.catsplay.com/pet_jewelry.php3

    Thanks for your input.

Oskars, you do it like this. Take the plain text link that goes to the home page and add the url of the page you want to link to in the urllink= field:

    IE:
    http://www.shareasale.com/m-redirect...php3&afftrack=

Thanks Markymark...do we need to use the urlencode?? and do we need to add the "&afftrack=" at the end?

PS I only mentioned the urlencode because I just looked up another thread

    http://abw.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&...9&m=8776062092

and in it they said that we should do it.

I think you only need to do that if the target page is dynamic. CatsPlay pages are all static, I think.

No, you don't need the &afftrack bit but it is useful to add your own tracking thingy in there. ie: &afftrack=catjewelry .

    Thanks Markymark,

by the way, it's Oscar, not Oskars - he/she is a longstanding member at abw, I'm still a newbie (just one star)!

Yeah, I did notice that. But I was too late to edit my first reply. Sorry about that.

if there's a ? or & in the url you are trying to put into the link, then you have to encode it, otherwise, most browsers are smart enough to "do as I say, not as I do"

    Marky,

is that affiliate tracking tag added to the end of the shareasale url restricted to shareasale merchants only - can I use it in CJ/Linkshare links too? I'm having problems trying to find out which pages on my website are generating sales and which are not...at the moment I am getting sales from my website but I don't know what's selling and what's not.

CJ and Linkshare both have their own tags that you can use. Can't remember what they're called - maybe someone else can jump in on this. Frankly, I never use them myself. Don't have the time or inclination to keep tracking individual product sales and all that stuff.

Does the &urllink= option work for all SAS merchants?

I assume it should - did you check out the thread I mentioned? It seemed to imply all SAS merchants. I know I've been doing redirects from CJ in the format (CJ) they've suggested so I assume that once you have the format for redirects in SAS, you can do it for all their merchants (as long as that merchant allows redirects). I could be wrong...
