I've just signed up on 30/11/2004 for a publisher account at Commission Junction, installed some banners in my website, and since some days it's not possible to access the sites of the advertisers, if you click you get just a "server not found" page. And the worst is that also the website of CJ has dissapeared. And this since almost 2 weeks!!!

Well, I have tried to get some information about this "crash" in google but it seems as if nobody has noticed it. No comments, nothing (except some minor mentions to a "partial outrage" end of November) Why nobody says a word about this aituation? Or am I getting crazy?! :-)

There is no major outage with CJ. Did you ever consider it's a problem on your end? A 2 week crash of the largest affilate network on the web would certainly have been noticed. For petes sake, a 2 minute lag is noticed on these boards.

Are you running Norton? Have you done a virus check? Have you tried to access CJ from another computer? Did your CJ links ever work?

Kazaa or Kazaa lite will do it to. It was on my Bro's computer when I was visiting him...I edited the host file it uses er sumthin' and all worked again.

But I wouldn't mess with the host file unless you know what your doing...

Not like I knew anything about it when I did it but... I did it anyway

I deleted that stupid host file at the beginning of this year and I have not found any problem related to blocking anything on my computer and so far, I have not see any need for the host file.

I just wish that all my visitors delete their host file from their computer before they go to my sites, that way I would be able to make more money with CJ. and the others.

You really shouldn't have need of a hosts file, it's used for mapping like your dns servers, the safe thing to do would be to just rename it to hostsold or soemthing, that way you still have a copy, just in case.

    Yeah,

$10 says you've installed Kazaa Lite on your computer and things have come pear-shaped since then.
