    Hi everybody,

I just tried to open my ebay affiliate link on my computer to check out what data are stored in an ebay cookie.. I have got Win XP Home Edition - so I went to Documents and Settings folder, clicked my User folder then Local Settings and Finally Temporary Internet files. Thi is the place where I would be looking for any cookies. Please correct me if I am mistaken.. So I found the last modified ebay cookie something like enduser@ebay.com + enduser@qksrv.net cookie - which I expect to be CJ tracking cookie - both of them were modified at the same time..
I opened both of them and copied the content:
    This is the enduser@ebay.com cookie:

My question is a pretty simple one:
How come I cannot see my ID: 1567230 anywhere in the code?
I got more than 200 clicks - unfortunately no sale!
    Thanks for any feedback.

CJ encrypts their cookies, hence alot of the debates around here lately.

    Thanks Scott,

seems like there is really no parasite program changing my cookies - I just wasn't able to explain "no sales" issue OK,then, time to move on..

eBay may be its biggest parasite. See the discussions here on how they handle cookies.

I don't get it. I thought the cookies were stored on the visitor's computer. So why would an affiliate check their own cookies looking for their own ID code on their own computer?

(sorry to be so late returning to the thread, but was invited to about every party around, this holiday.)

there are so many threads about how eBay handles cookies. or handles who they decide gets the benefit, whether in the right order or not. Please use the search facility here because there is just too much to read about it.
