We are in the process of inserting short stories and snippets
into existing pages and we want to use text links only! Since
this involves hundreds of inserts, we’d like to keep it as simple
as possible. If we use only our affiliate ID to link to the home page...
will it track OK...? Here’s an example from one of our pages...

    ——-
“Are you a friend of the bride?
Then check out the "Bachelorette Party" section at Dimout.com
From the Bachelorette Host Guide and The Bachelorette Party Kit,
to "Stuff For The Bride." You’ll find everything you need to give
that bride-to-be a great send off and help her to make sure that
her new marriage gets off to a flying start.”
    ——-

In the above paragraph, the words “Dimout.com”
are a link with the code...
    www.dimout.com/?SSAID=xxxxxx

This link seems to work well for Dimout... but...
If we use the same approach for our other Share-A-Sale merchants...
Will it track correctly and credit our account...?

If not... is there another way to simply link to the home page
of our merchants using only our affiliate ID in a text link...?

    Thanks...

    Bob...

    Don't know Crab... that's why I'm asking...

All I know at this point is that it tracks for
the Dimout link... Other than that... I'm not sure...

All I really want to do.., is attach an affiliate
link to 100's of simple little words... with as
little trouble as possible... any suggestions...?

You'll need to use the linkcode provided in your Shareasale account.
    Thanks,

    Brian... thanks for your response...

There was an error in the original post...
That was the url of the landing page, not the code
    that went there...

    The code should have read...
    http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?B=xxxx&U=xxxxx&M=xxxx

That is what was tracking correctly and I assume that it
will work for all of our merchants... is this correct?

When I realized the error and the fact that the merchant lists
my affiliate ID in their url... I was a little surprised...

I'm not too crazy about a merchant listing my affiliate ID
in their URL... you don’t have to be a rocket scientist
to figure out what “SSAID=xxxxx” means...

Most of our Share A Sale merchants don't do this...

    Hello,

I can set up text links for you through the SAS links manager if you tell me the text you want and where on the site you want them linked.

Sorry I did not see this sooner but I was out of town for a few days.

I am not sure but I think http://abw.infopop.cc/eve/ubb.x?a=tp...9&m=8776062092 that post may also explain it a little.

Merchants have the option of having this passed to us in the Shareasale merchant control panel. It allows us to keep track of which affiliate brought that particular sale/customer to us and can be used to process recurring sales etc..
