    OK. I think I have it, now.

    This is the first half of the link
    http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?m=xx...u=xxx&urllink=

    m=merchantID

    b=bannerID

    u=yourID

    You get these numbers from any link that is provided for you by the merchant at SAS.

    Now, make the second half of the link. Copy the URL of the page you want and go to http://www.asifproductions.com/urlencode.html

    Convert it on the machine. Remove the http:// so that it starts with www. Add that to the first part above right after urllink= . This has worked on 3 merchants so far.

    Good luck.

    Wow that's great! Thanks for your work on this..

    Do you know if I need to have the banner id part, most of my links are all text based.

    Thanks!

    Not sure so I just put in any old banner ID the merchant had.

    You don't have to bother urlencoding it. The regular link works just as well.

    So what you are saying is that the second half of the link would look like

    www.body-jewelry-body-piercing.com%2Fsubcatmfgprod.asp%3F0%3D279%261%3D287%262%3D1118

    if I was linking to a page at Chris's site???

    This thread is so timely. I was up all night making custom links with SAS and this was the problem. Sometimes you can and sometimes you can't just enter the url address w/o encoding.

    Wish I could've seen this thread yesterday.

    You can enter the address without encoding, if the address doesn't contain and ? or &

    If it does, you have to encode.

    For P.P.S. relationships, there is an encoder tool in the account.

    Brian, please lure more merchants to your awesome Premier Service. Please ask merchant #1057 to participate - I can guarantee more sales.

    Last week I phoned them and asked to also track sales by phone but with no avail. I'd prefer to collaborate with Merchants who track each & every sale since I can send tons of referrals.

    I am currently losing a great deal on "offline" orders.

    Congratulations for your awesome service - keep supporting affiliates with more features.

    Thank you! Now, I don't have to go searching for this thread every time I want to explain this to someone.

    Hi,

    I just wanted to compliment SAS on the ease with which affiliates can link to specific merchants' products.

    I wish all the other networks made it this easy -- and in some case made it possible.

    I agree! We started using these several months ago. But one question - how do we get them back? Target="" doesn't even work.

    before...

    i.e., there should be no http:// in the urllink field.... starts right out with www or whatever else the url has...

    We've got the referral linking part down. But now we lose the customer when s/he is "redirected" They can't even back using "Back." Any suggestions of how to do the referral but keep the back button active?

    i believe i can be a real asset for SAS merchants. but i think it is a waste of time creating customized links for specific products.
    and why there are only 3 merchants have joined the PPS ?

    I e-mailed you a question about a merchant who has a yahoo store. Does the yahoo store effect the links? I see the merchant id in the redirect page notation but not the afiliate id. Do we need to include the banner part when we are linking to the product pages this way?

    Mr.Merchant, if you do business in any way what-so-ever with parasites, your products will not be sold on my sites!!

    Ssanf,

    If the link redirects to the merchant's page - all is ok. If there was an error - you would get the standard "Link is Not Active" page for any inactive/incorrect link, etc...

    I've tried this method of linking to specific pages with BikeBandit.com. I searched out a particular model on their site, encoded, and added it to my link but it still takes me to the homepage. Is it possible with their site?
    You have to enter the year, the model, and the make of vehicle in three steps before coming to the specific page I was looking for. Thanks!
