    Hi folks,

I just finished my new platform yesterday and asked ShareAsale guys, how to get affiliates: they pointed me here.

I have done some solid SEO in germany for a lot of merchants and years, but I fear the US market has some different basic rules to be successful. I figured: "hey, the americans are not evil, let's ask" ;-)

So, here are the basic questions from a newbie in the US affiliate market:

1.) I have commissions to give and I am serious with affiliate marketing, what else is there to do, besides setting up an account with a large network?

2.) I want active affiliates accepting my program, but the market is getting overcrowded somehow. What do you think of:

    a) a lottery after every 100th new affiliate: holidays, etc. or do you think, I just should call you and give PLUS % on provisions and on your nerves with that?

    b) mailings? will I be deleted by the SPAM filter?

    c) featured merchant: do you ever even notice the "featured merchant" after logging in on SAS?

    thanks for no flames,
    Ralf

    tradebit.com, welcome to ABW.

I'm not sure how the other affiliates feel, but many of us just want to make sales and be rewarded if the volume more than meets expectations. In other words, set limits to be reached and make bonuses accordingly.

Any tools you can provide to help us sell will be received gratefully.

    hi herb,

thanks for the answer. I think rewarding the webmasters for sales is a matter of course, but GETTING the critical mass of active affiliates is the problem.

    cheers,
    ralf
